Carns Hill Releases Artwork To 'OT3 Mixtape' [Release]

UK Rap super producer Carns Hill has released the artwork to the forthcoming OT3 Mixtape and its the same stellar cast from the the previous OT mixtapes with Blade Brown, Youngs Teflon, Fem Fel, Skwilla SDG, Timbar and Mental K with Mykal Million once again on hosting duties.

No word as to whether this will be a Free download or iTunes release but look out for more news on this mixtape which will be out soon.

REVIEW - BLADE BROWN - BAGS & BOXES

Blade Brown is your favourite Trap Rappers favourite Trap Rapper trust me, and with Blade seeking to Maintain and solidify his spot He drops the mixtape 'Bags to Boxes'.
For those amongst you that don't understand this sort of terminology leave this mixtape well alone as Mykal Million(one of the hardest working guys in the UK game) puts it at on the intro "This mixtape is gonna have a lot of you Trapping" and he's not wrong as Blade Brown takes you on a complete tour of the UKs Traplife with tracks like the epic 'OT ' with Blade proudly proclaiming("A trap song without me on it,Is like a strip without B in it!") 'Bags to Boxes also includes trap classics like 'Fast Dough' ft FemFel,'Feel like I made it','Hammer em Down' ft Giggs,Dope Man and when I come around as well as the introspective 'Nobodys perfect' and 'walk wid me' ft Timbar on which the two trade inner city realities over an infectious Hill production beat also the back in the days theme of 'Young days ft Taymah' but the icing on the cake would have to be 'Afghanistan' ft Skwilla Da Gorrilla with the two trading extremely harsh bars over an orchestral sounding Hill Production with Blade spitting("And I'm heard that you wanna bun me,Now I'm sitting outside your yard like an Undie!").
This album is a definite progression on his last project 'The Best Of Blade' as it plays more like an album than a mixtape and gives a glimpse of what an official project from your favourite Trapper might sound like,and with bars like these Its sounding good!
An essential purchase get it now 9/10!

MIXTAPE REVIEW :TIMBAR - NO MANNERS - HOSTED BY MYKAL MILLION

Don't get it twisted out here the Southern Assault on UK hip hop continues and Will remain a dominating force for a while getting stronger and stronger with each quality release from some of the finest street lyricists, Though no newcomer to the game it has only been recently that Timbar has gotten his buzz right up and this momentum has been captured on his latest offering 'NO MANNERS'hosted by Mykal Million,which should see Timbar really getting the respect he deserves as one of the hardest in the game!
'NO MANNERS' As the title implies is thoroughly hardcore from start to end and contains no glitzy club beats nore any cheesy girl tracks begging radio play,Timbar has managed to successfully craft a real gutter mixtape for the 'man dem'but this don't sound forced or repetitive as he effortlessly switches between Road rap on tracks like'A.b.g','Bitch boys','Streets are corrupted' and 'Burners close ft Grim'and serious Shotta rap on tracks like'Wanted to the Cops ft Don Titch'and the compelling'THE SET UP' which should serve as a cautionary tale for anyone getting money as his attention to detail really brings this track to life.Timbars main strengths lie in his ability to recall honest events in his life and put them to paper giving the listeners a real insight into his Dreams,Hopes,Regrets,Pain & Hope to escape the Street life and this is done best on tracks like'BORN WITH A SENTENCE' with bars like("When I was only fourteen,I was on the curbside,shotting them the morphine/from Steven to Maureen")and 'Letter to Mother'which utilizing the Jadakiss'Letter to B.I.G'Timbar manages to convey a heartfelt emotional letter to his Mother,praising her for all he put her through,all shes overcome,and tough love("Momma put a broke in my nose/cos she could smell the weed on my clothes")real talk!
Overall the production(combination of original and U.S beats)is tight but there are a two tracks 'Spray it up'and'Sometimes'which suffer a Little as the production doesn't match the quality of the lyrics,but with 26 tracks that's a minor,Tracks like 'Its Ludacris' and 'Claim you bang ft Kurms and B Dubble'show Timbar can switch up flows but its the deeper tracks like'Crazy world'("I got a baby girl,born in this crazy world/I ain't trying to go up north,sent to a racist jail")where Timbar is at his most effective as he really enters the listeners minds.
All in all if you ain't got this in your collection,then your slipping

MIXTAPE REVIEW :SKWILLA DA GORRILLA - 'FROM A PENNY TO A POUND - HOSTED BY MYKAL MILLION

Fresh off the success of the critically acclaimed mixtape'For the love of Elizabeth' your boy Skwilla da Gorilla comes even harder with his latest offering for the street 'From a penny to a pound'.
Hosted by the Souths mixtape king Mykal Million this mixtape shows a significant rise in the standard of Skwillas work,both in his flow/delivery and his content/concepts which has been missing from the UK hiphop game recently and to be precise this is more of an album than a mixtape as the beats are all original productions which gives to an added feel authenticity to this project which is a definite bonus.With 18 tracks and 5 bonus tracks Skwilla manages to cover most bases but is at his most comfortable on tracks like'They testing me''love vs hate'and 'Made Men'-feat Blade,which are all heavy rugged street bangers for he man dem' and He manages to convey his street knowledge as well as his regrets an dreams into these tracks as easily as He issues a threat to his enemies like on the excellent bonus track 'Holla' with lines like "My line pings like a blackberry/getting mad skrilla see I stack heavy/stick up your white house jack your Pressie/know the time when I jack you for your bezzie/my eyes are the window to my soul/I seen alot of hard done shit on the roads/man rocking silver calming that its gold/a lot of money makes a young nigga feel old."
Its with bars like this and tracks like'The interview'-feat Mykal Million,'Dirty Cane' and'Game over'-feat Timbar are some of the best bits of UK hiphop to drop over the past few years added with tracks like'Letter to my lost ones'which finds Skwilla showing a comendible amount of strength as he writes a letter to his Late Mother and others in a way anyone who has lost someone dear to them will understand and its the ability to fashion thought provoking tracks like this and 'Question a G' that should position Skwilla as on of the best in the UK
