Chrome's back with a catchy futuristic sounding banger and video, Ooh Now Baby featuring Stylah is one of the best videos I have seen this year as Chrome and Stylah are set in some futuristic Cyber world in some thing that will remind you of the film Tron with Chrome dropping some nice vocals and Stylah dropping a guest verse on the track.
Chrome has had his vocals help Dizzee Rascal hit number one twice (Dance wiv me & Holiday) and instead of kicking back on this has decided to push himself and hopes to achieve chart success in his own right and will be releasing a Star studded album in early 2011.
We interviewed Stylah Fresh off the release of his monumental video Prologue which after only 12 hours had done 10,000 hits on you tube which was fitting for the Video which features every one in the UK rap game and then some.Stylah talks about the whole concept and how it came about plus who was hard to get and also tells what his next video will be plus his plans for 201.
Treading water is out now!
Stylah is back with a video for the intro track from his new album Treading water,Prologue features cameos from 25 of the biggest artists in the UK rap scene including Smiler,Sincere,Strapzy,Charlie Sloth,Ill Mill(sms),Mega (s.a.s),Fumin,G Frsh,Lowkey,Sway,Krome,Ace & Vis,K Koke,Tony D,Doc Brown,Bashy,Noel Clarke,279,Wordplay,Loudmouth as well as celebrity ex gangster Dave Courtney with all of them performing as Stylah, like in that Rock video by Nickle Back.
The track is a very deep insightful journey into the mind of Stylah as he flows in and out of a slick instrumental dropping some powerful punchlines and metaphors ("Obamas got a plan now cos we need change,Obamas got his hand out cos he needs change,A brudda changed plans now cos my needs changed,The futures now panning out with no replay!") This is a definite historic moment for UK Rap as no one has managed to pull off a video with this many cameos and I guarantee you will see more artists trying things like this which is only a good look for the scene.
Up and coming rapper STYLAH has made a controversial video that may never see the light of day on TV.
The video for his debut single Killa features violent imagery that has so far meant it can only be shown on t’internet.
Throughout the video viewers see victims shot to death by others using their hands as guns.
In an early scene the gunman is a child with his friend on a pushbike.
With lyrics in the chorus talking about everybody becoming killers, it’s little wonder the violent promo has yet to be broadcast on the television.
However, the twist of the song, recorded with fellow rapper SMILER, is that it is actually ANTI-gun crime.
Stylahs back with a smash 'Killa' features Smiler and is what a UK banger is supposed to be,this track produced by show n prove is a fast paced energetic track with both MCs sounding as hungry as a pair of newcomers with each spitting fire with each bar Stylah spitting("You breddas are etch - a - sketch and on a small scale like a scaletrix set,Im the most hectic yet ,got my own movement like Scorcher,Wretch and Ghetts!!!") with Smiler following with heat like ("Niggas never ask if Smiles down they know I got to eat like where the plate B certain niggas spitting on my name but they slyly rate me smile in my grill on-line their faisty!") Add this to a top Video from Digital Dan and you got all the makings of a Classic. Treading water is available now on i tunes and as you'll understand from this track its worth it!
We caught up with Stylah,Strapzy and Rem on the set of the video for 'The Last Laugh' which was shot by Morgan keys for SBTV.'The last laugh is a banger of a track with all 3 artists dropping hard bars over a sick show and prove beat.
Look out for the Video coming soon as well as Stylahs album 'Treading water'-out now (i tunes) as well as Strapzys new mixtape 'blue Steel' coming soon!
We were down at the Def Jam Rapstar launch party yesterday and it was a big affair attended by most of the Top UK Rap artists and Grime stars as well as actors and the occasional sports star. The best thing for me was seeing artists from both scenes all getting along in a professional setting as it shows we can do these sort of events with no madness or problems.
Shouts to Mega (SAS),Buck (OTB),Giggs,Dot Rottten,Black the Ripper,Stylah,Loudmouth Melvin,Smiler,Tiny iron,Ashley Chin,Black Twang,Baby blue,Haze,Mz Brat,Justice,Twin B and everyone else down there repping!
