Review: U.S.G - UNFORTUNATE SOULS GRIEVE VOLUME 1 - MIXTAPE - HOSTED BY CHARLIE SLOTH

With the Release of the new Charlie Sloth hosted mixtape Unfortunate Souls Grieve volume 1,Stone Bridge's U.S.G Squingy,K Koke,Exo,Lefty,Menace,Butch,Chuck,Don Jaga and Fibbz show how they have become one of UK Raps biggest names by consistently delivering some of the hardest hitting most detailed and heartfelt street music as well as some of the biggest anthems not forgetting they probably have more hot collaborations under their belts than any other crew all that and they are still easily one of the most imitated movements in the UK Rap game today.
Unfortunate Souls Grieve volume 1 is a selection of some of the biggest tracks from The U.S.G generals  and a few guest appearances from PDC,Justo, ST, Fire Bars,Big Narstie,Nougz,Propane, Cid Youseff and many more.
This mixtape serves as an excellent introduction to U.S.G for anyone who is new to their music as well as a perfect mixtape for fans who might have missed tracks and need to catch up on the classics.
Unfortunate Souls Grieve volume 1 doesn't contain fake rhymes about everyday being and endless party nor does it contain any weak pop attempts but also stays away from an over abundance of one sound as they skilfully select different soundscapes to match each song and different artist formations on each track .
K Koke,Exo and Squingy drop some extremely straight to the point lyrics as on tracks like Peak,Soca Medley,Why so serious,Still Grinding, and others but its the Melancholy inducing Corrupted featuring Timbar which sees Squingy at his finest
("I'm sharp like a guillotine out on these killer streets, the streets is corrupted turn friends to enemies, send man to jail and some to the cemetery,Gun shots bodies, drop and turn man to memories") with K Koke giving his usual deep rooted insight into street life
("Look I really struggled you don't know fam,see a young face with the eyes of an old man,To try and stay alive is the programme, probably won't survive in this life if you don't bang") on Not Loose and Exo dropping his playful flow but with his usual grown man sensibilities as is evident on the Soka Medley (" Pop in the microwave,go easy on the temperature, you can make a profit kid, only if I'm letting ya")
The next generation show and prove to a great degree also with Menace,Lefty,Chuck,Butch and Fibbz all shining as well as holding their own on tracks with more established members with Fibbz spitting ("When bo shots are licking in your cheeks you'll wiggling your feet, like your first names happy")
Chuck goes innn on the Cam'ron classic Child of the Ghetto with Butch and Menace shining on Crime scene making this a well balanced and entertaining mixtape.
The only fault I can point out on this is the lack of new tracks as it would have been nice to drop 1 or 2 fresh tracks to go with the classics.
All in all Unfortunate Souls Grieve volume 1 is definitely needed if your a fan of Road Rap and Street music as it sits neatly on your I-pod and sounds banging in a car with no filler on the mixtape what so ever.
