TINCHY STRYDER - BEFORE THE STORM - MIXTAPE REVIEW

After the outstanding success of his Platinum selling 'Catch22' the Stryderman is back with a 10 track mixtape to keep things buzzing until the November release of his third album 'The Third Strike'. 'Before the storm' is a mixtape which manages to cater to both the mainstream and the underground listener as Tinchy effortlessly manages to combine the two with serious introspective on his life since being in the spotlight on 'Money Mans World' and 'F64' as well as dropping some banging dance tracks like the classic ruff squad sounding 'Right Now feat Rapid' and 'Badman Ting' which are sure to keep the clubs bumping,With an absence of the Commercial collaborations Tinchy shows he is a big enough Artist in his own right opting to record with Wiley,Ghetts,Mercston,Maveric,Dirty Danger,Rapid,Stutta and Fuda Guy. These collaborations work extremely on tracks like 'No Limits feat Maveric' and 'Hype Ting feat Stutta,Mercston and Ghetts'(no points for guessing who completely bodied the track!)It is also through these collborations that we get the mixtapes highlight in the for of the electro tinged 'Everybody feat Wiley and Maveric' and cleverly utilizing samples from Daftpunk and Ruffneck with Stryder declaring("I aint wayne/but I sold a millie last year!")This track will definitely be all over the radio come summertime. All in all 'Before the Storm' is a solid offering from Tinchy Stryder and should have something for everyone although a little short at only 10 tracks but some times its quality over quantity. A mixtape for the whip most definitely!!!8.5
