Should UK Artists sign to US Artists Labels?

I'm still not sure how I feel about our UK Hip Hop and R&B Artists signing up with US Artists for whatever reason,I cannot think of one Artist who has benefited immensely off signing to US Artists as has been demonstrated by S.A.S whom signed to Roc-a-fella through Jay-z and Sway whom has signed with Akons Convict music Label each have respectively received the biggest cosigns from some of the most famous Artists in the world but that has done little to cement their status in the UK where they were already at the top of their game or in the US where they haven't been as well received as they have been in the UK.This leaves you to wonder what is the point of signing to someone who cant make you any bigger than you already are as it seems to me that US Artists feel it will make them seem more of an international business man if they can say"I been in the UK signing Artists, and doing deals"but the reality of it is as soon as they leave the UK then that seems to be that.
Now if US Artists were getting UK Artists deals with BMG(Simon Cowell/Xfactor)then they could actually say they were using their influence to help UK Artists, but it seems all they do is record a few Throwaway sounding tracks and talk shit on UK radio but then as i said before, that seems to be that!If UK Artists manage to realise that Dizzee Rascal,Giggs,Wiley and whoever is ultra hot at the moment didn't do it through an international cosign more through Hard,Grind,Hot tracks and Perseverance as well as selling themselves like a product until it becomes impossible for Major Labels to ignore them.
Then again if Sway can get Akon to get Lady Gaga to drop him a hook it might just be the one!

what do you think?are there really any benefits to UK Artists by signing to US Artists
