The Grime Event of the year Lord of the Mics 3 see's its release on DVD tomorrow and here's a brief rundown of a few of the battles which I saw at the Private screening this week.
Marger v.s Lay.Z
Of all the clashes on Lord of the Mics 3 Marger vs Lay.Z is definitely the most controversial as anyone who is on Twitter will know with Lay.Z receiving a lot more than he bargained for in the Basement.
Kozzie v.s Sox
Birmingham's Sox definitely lets himself as well as his City down with his less than stellar performance which see's him constantly forgetting his Bars and thats after he forfited the first battle.
Diesle v.s Wariko
This is one of the most well laid out Clashes with each veteran studying their opponent and really letting loose lyrically really showing how a Clash should be handled.
Canada's Tre Mission actually manged to hold his own against the OGz member Jendor who really put it on Tre Mission taking no Prisoners with his bars and technical ability.
Verdict
Lord of the Mics 1 & 2 are legendary DVD's and responsible for boosting the careers of all artists involved and while LOTM3 will definitely boost the careers of all involved it does lack that certain Star power of previous editions as many of today's Grime 'Top Boys' refused to clash for fear of losing as well as many of them seeing themselves too Big to be involved in clashing.
There were also MC's like Chronik who nobody in the Grime scene was brave enough to clash as well as the No Lay vs OG Niki situation,but this surprisingly doesn't take away from the DVD as the New generation of Grime MC's definitely keep things popping with what is a very entertaining set of Clashes that have kept Grime relevant in 2011.

I can honestly call this one of the Best things I have seen this year.
