The Tory MP, gushed about the grime star’s “go-getting nature” and said he listened to his music in the ministerial motor.

Culture Minister Matt Hancock claimed he was a big fan of Mercury Prize winner Skepta – but couldn’t name any of his tracks.

The Tory, 37, gushed about the grime star’s “go-getting nature” and said he listened to his music in the ministerial motor.

But asked to name his favourite track, he turned to his aide, saying: “Jonathan, help me out here.” The aide said: “Shutdown.”
Mr Hancock, responsible for digital policy at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, added: “He tells a story of his background, but the thing that excites me is he can break through.

“I don’t like to wallow in poverty. I think wherever you come from, you can make it."
