Out to get mine is taken from Birmingham UK Rap veteran  Malik MD7's latest mixtape the DJ ames  hosted Malik Mania which as this track proves is one of the better UK Rap releases this year as Malik drops a set of tracks which any Rap fan will feel as he covers most angles but as exemplified in this track it is definitely his street lyricism that holds him head and shoulders above his competitors.

Review - Malik MD7 - Malik Mania [Mixtape] - Hosted By DJ Ames

Its a certified fact that just as Wiley is rated as the Godfather of Grime, Birmingham's Malik MD7 is UKs Godfather of Street Rap and if you asked any of the UK's top street Lyricists they will tell you the same and its and acknowledgement and accomplishment not many will achieve as the main thing Malik has over many of the UK Rap Artists is his relevance to the game as can be seen in his recent slew of collaborations with Giggs,G Frsh,S.A.S,K Koke,Margs,Sway,U.S.G,Professor Green,Kelashnekoff,Wretch 32 and many more will let you know that Malik is in high demand.
Malik has a full understanding of delivery and an unchallenged gift of lyricism which combined bring a certain certified authenticity to tracks and whether its The harsh reality of inner city street life, straight word play and lyricism, something for the ladies or Something thought provoking and Knowledgeable Malik has all angles covered and to a standard which is easily on par with any of your favourite US artists and head and shoulders above 9 out of 10 UK Rap artists as the word smith continually raises the levels in the game and with his latest mixtape Malik mania its raised again.
Starting things off is the riot inducing 'My advice' with Malik
reminding MC's who's who in the game with lines like
("He's a bully with a blade and a hoodie,Get in his way end up like Jade Goodie")
following up with the excellent 'Out to get mine' Remix which is a perfect example of Maliks lyrical superiority as he takes the Urban Monk instrumental and turns it into one of the best UK Rap tracks you will hear this year
("Black British Bulldog Pedigree,Never really wanted to be a celebrity,Remember when my people had more integrity all changed when the pound notes became our destiny")
also check out 'Yo Don' which see's Malik tackling the Wiz Khalifa 'Black and Yellow' beat 'Unthinkable' which will definitely work for the ladies
("In the past I just wanted to seduce ya,but now I can see you in my future")
he spits on the Alicia Keys Instrumental.
Malik covers a lot of ground with Malik Mania with him updating HipHop classics from Slick Rick 'Knock 'em out'  and the Black Moon classic 'The Realness' both which he uses for lyrical workouts,K Koke and Margs(Mashtown) join Malik on 'I'm ready' and on the '30 rounds' remix Malik is joined by Giggs,S.A.S and G Frsh for what was easily one of last years best UK tracks and show Malik's ability to work his magic with the best of them but the crown jewel on this project has to be 'Dream within a Dream' which sees him exploring some of the darker parts of society and life  how much is conspiracy versus the truth dropping what I can only call one of the most truthful bars I have heard in the past few years

("Blaow,Blaow what a price to pay!I've watched mans gangbang their whole life away and leave behind a baby mother with no help, the curse of giving birth before she gets to know herself")
I can't find anything week on this mixtape and although the production on 'Topman' is something you will either love or hate with lyrics like
("Never snitch don't give evidence then go missing like D-E-VELOPMENT")
its still very entertaining 'Open hearts' might not be everyone's cup of tea either with its drum and base production which doesn't really fit the mixtape once again Maliks lyricism make it a worthwile listen but with tracks like 'Hot Toddy' featuring Birmingham's Continental GT will have you pressing rewind and is definite 'Summer time Drop Top Music' and one for the Swaggertastic.
All in all Malik Mania is one of the best complete body of works I've listened to in the past few years as Maliks lyricism,Clarity, concept and Delivery are all at their highest level making this an Essential  mixtape for any fan of UK Rap or Street Lyricism as it contains some superior tracks and is a Mixtape you will definitely enjoy.
10/10
