Review - Big Chess - Slap a Snitch mixtape

Big Chess's mixtape S.A.S - Slap a snitch has created a street buzz for the Peckham,South London representative whom entered the public eye on the back of a war of words with a English Frank which was a very risky step for Big Chess to make so early on in his career as it could have led to him being seen as a hater or an MC who is  only worthy of attention when he's beefing and can't make music.
Fortunately  that's not the case here as  Big Chess proves with this mixtape.
Slap a snitch is filled with tales from the South London streets,The highs and Lows of Street Life,forgotten street morals and a good dose of reality as Big Chess keeps it thorough on tracks such as Adidas Music, S.A.S slap a snitch,Just Corn dem
("Modern day Moses,with a Big stick,Imma turn a boy red when I push this")
There are a few lessons for the youngster as well as moments of insight into his life such as My Strife feat Kara Leiana & How's my life  But its his Brash arrogance on tracks such as 'P.M.S - Peckham man soldiers'and 'Needs No introduction' That work best on this mixtape with Chess dropping some classic lines  like
("I'm sick and tired of this UK Rap, everybodys talking Gwop,but I ain't seeing a lot,and everybody's got weight,If you got it like that come shot me a box mate")
Slap a snitch for all its higs does suffer from a few lows, for one the host Samzy Actor is highly annoying and should have been replaced by Mykal Million,Dice or Big Ryde.The other problem is Big Chess has a slight tendancy to drop the occasional uninspired rhyme as well as average performances on a few tracks.
That said for a debut mixtape from a relative new comer this mixtape bangs in all the right places as well as stands head and shoulders above a lot of the rubbish floating around from a lot of these inexperienced MC's as there is an immediate authentic feel to his music unlike many of the others.
Slap a snitch is a good entrance to the UK Rap game and should hopefully lead to more from the Black Gang Ryder.

 Big Chess doesn't glorify bullshit street nonsense instead he looks and explains why things happen the way they do and the consequences of the Street Life with tracks like S.A.S - Slap a snitch,R.I.P Taz,P.M.S (Peckham Man Soldiers),Snakes in the Grass,I ain't a Rapstar and Luger,Star or Mac?  This a definite essential download.

SPLASH RADIO - BIG CHESS INTERVIEW & FREESTYLE - ADDRESSES ENGLISH FRANK!

South London UK Rapper Big Chess catches up with Splash Radios Dee Gully and Laura Lucious and in this very candid interview he explains his intentions behind the track 'Freeing the Realness' as well as his feelings on English Frank and makes it known that this isn't about roads or anything other than he believes the youths on road don't need to be gassed up with Fake unrealistic messages about buying houses as its not too easy and life is short.

He also drops a cold freestyle over the Giggs 'Monsta Man' instrumental and will be dropping 'S.A.S- Slap a Snitch before the end of the month.

BIG CHESS - FREEING THE REALNESS (MESSAGE FOR ENGLISH FRANK)

South Londons Big Chess has dropped a video and diss track aimed at Peoples Army member English Frank with 'Freeing the Realness' in which Big Chess accuses English Frank of selling a UK Rap dream with his recent Fire in the booth Freestyles and his LV and Gucci burning on his recent Grime Daily Crep Check.He also questions English Franks belief that we can all just buy a house and shouldn't have Kids asking their Mums for designer clothing and also accuses him of burning Fake Designer clothing in his video.
Personally I understand where English Frank is coming from with his 'Free the Realness' campaign as a lot of UK Rap is one sided but for every movement is a counter-movement and thats what Big Chess is bringing.
Using the 2 pac instrumental from 'Hit 'em Up' spitting lines like
("10 grand on your floors,no leather in your whip,10 pound on your jeans,are you taking the piss?500 keys thats 4 million pound,stay off this real thing cos your bringing it down,10 goons 2 dogs and you all look Bummy,not 1 ounce of Guilt when your talking about money")
Its yet to be seen what English Frank will have to say in response to this track but I got a strong feeling he will have something to say about this track.
