Review - Nolay - I am Legend Mixtape (Hosted by Dj Limelight)

In the History of Female MC's in Grime and UK Rap Nolay stands out as easily one of the most talented writers of our time.
I am legend serves as a prelude to Her forthcoming album He said she said :I am bad and this serves as not only a reminder of the levels Nolay plays at but also a return to real lyricism and writing.
Her confident raw lyricism as well as her ability to chop and change flows effortlessly led to Nolay being able to heat up a variety of different instrumentals and genres with a range of different topics including Her real life experiences which she use's to teach others.
I am Legend starts with the extremely impressive Title track which sees Nolay spitting bars over a Triumphant Horn based instrumental which sets the tone with No Lay dropping lines like
("I got a Mount Everest flow for you my rhymes are peak,In times you'll see who's got the crown and who's the Queen")
and that's a sentiment that is resounded through out this mixtape.
Tracks to check out are the impressive Spartan (Remix),Nolays Revenge,Satisfaction Freestyle,Big Time and many more bangers which showcase Nolay at her finest peppering tracks with nothing but hard bars and an unstoppable flow which she is definitely 110% in control of.
I am Legend does suffer from two underwhelming tracks which DJ Limelight should have removed as  Ride or Die and Game Done take from the overall appeal of the project but not enough to be too serious a problem as the rest of this mixtape is straight fire.
Monsta Freestyle sees Nolay Remixing Giggs latest track and using it for a lyrical workout dropping lines like
("I go in harder than an under threat barrer who's trying to save the life of himself, wife, mother, brother and father")
I am legend also has some snippets from Nolays forthcoming album 'He said she said-I am bad" including 4321,Drugs and A fool which give you a taste of what's coming next and That's nothing but more good music from one of the UK's most talented Lyricists.
I am Legend Shows Nolay still ain't to be fucked with on the mic and that her Debut Album He sais, she said: I am bad is going to be one of the better albums of 2011.
9/10
this mixtape is Christmas to any fan of lyricism.
